The Science Forum, held in Yerevan, Armenia, on 24–25 October 2026, was dedicated to the memory of our late Secretary General, Kofi Akamani.
Kofi was part of the team behind the organisation of the Science Forum. Dedicating this gathering to his memory was an opportunity for our community to honour him and remember his presence and contributions.
In addition, Kofi’s colleagues from the Nexus initiative, the National Climate Assessment, IPBES and GE07 have organised a session on Sunday, 25 October at the Academia & Research Hub at COP17, dedicated to Kofi’s contributions to academic research.

Funeral Arrangements
Kofi’s family has shared the invitation to his final funeral rites, which are scheduled to take place on 14 and 15 November 2026 in Ghana.
