The International Diatom Symposium
IDS meets to promote the study of marine, freshwater, modern and fossil diatoms across the wide range of disciplines of biology, geology, paleoecology, cell metabolism, cell biology, metabolomics, nanotechnology, forensics, systematics, nomenclature, taxonomy, and biogeochemistry.
The 27th International Diatom Symposium will be held from 3 to 8 August 2025 in Skukuza, Kruger National Park, South Africa.
This conference is sponsored by IUBS as part of its ongoing support for scientific events organized in IUBS member countries. The sponsorship was granted through IUBS’s regular grant application review process, which is held every trimester.
