  • Pleistocene-Early Holocene remains of different invertebrates in the permafrost, i.e. associated with remains of large mammals of the “Mammoth Fauna”.

Alexey Alexeevich Kotov graduated from Biological Faculty of Moscow State University in 1991. Ph.D., Dr.Sci., Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Leading Researcher (“veduschij nauchnij sotrudnik”) of A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of RAS, Leninsky Prospect 33, Moscow 119071, Russia. Member of the Executive Committee of the International Union of Biological Sciences (since 2015); Vice-Chair of the National Committee of Russian Biologists; Member of the Coordination Mechanism of Global Taxonomy Initiative in frames of the Convention on the Biological Diversity (UNEP); Member of Editorial Broad of ‘Invertebrate Zoology’ (Moscow) and Advisory Broad of ‘Biologia’ (Bratislava); Member of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Committee of Russian Federation. Main scientific interests are related to all aspects of morphology, taxonomy, biology, phylogeography and palaeontology of the Cladocera (Crustacea), general problems of freshwater biodiversity inventarization and conservation and Pleistocene-Early Holocene remains of different invertebrates in the permafrost. Supervisor of several P.D. and Dr.Sci. projects. Author of about 170 scientific paper (125 are in the Web of Science Core Collection, WOS Researcher ID: B-1549-2010), three monographs and several collective monographs and book chapters.
