Profile
Prof. Yafang Yin is the leading scientist in wood anatomy and wood quality at the Chinese Academy of Forestry, and is in charge of the management and research innovation of the largest Wood Collection in China. He held the position of professor since 2011 and a post-doc position at Forintek of Canada (2003), and visiting scholarships at Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden and USDA Forest products Laboratory of USA. With the honor of leader of the Innovation Research Team of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, the Eleventh Forestry Science and Technology Award for Young Scholars of the State Forestry Administration of China, the Third Distinguished Young Scholars of the Chinese Academy of Forestry and the Second Class Award of Science and Technology of the Government of Beijing. He made service at the position of the Deputy Coordinator of IUFRO 5.06.00 (2009-2019), the Coordinator of IUFRO 5.06.00 since 2020, the member of the IAWA (International Association of Wood Anatomists) Council (2010-2016) and the IAWA Executive Secretary since 2017. He was assigned to the Editorial Board of Wood Science and Technology, the China Wood Industry and the Associate Editor of the IAWA Journal, and selected as a fellow of IAWS (the International Academy of Wood Science) and appointed as a member of China CITES Scientific Committee.
