Dr. Smagghe is a proud father of 3 children and professor with an expertise in entomology and agriculture. He isinternationally recognized for his innovative research on and the training of people, from the North and South, in different aspects of insect physiology, biochemistry and (eco)toxicology with pest and beneficial insects that are important in agriculture. Specifically, he supports a more green agriculture with enhancing biodiversity and sustainability to feed a growing population of 9B people. He is member of the Gender Equality WG
